    His farewell achieved the Guinness World Record for 4th Largest Funeral Gathering in history - a testament to his unparalleled impact on millions of hearts across the world.

    • 21-gun salute

      Laid to rest with full state honours, including a ceremonial 21-gun salute.

    • 3-day mourning

      Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma declared three days of state mourning.

      Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the rites in Kamarkuchi NC village.
    • Public turnout

      Over 15 lakh people paid their last respects at Sarusajai Stadium.

    • The last rites were performed by his younger sister, Palmi Borthakur, with close associates.

    • After a second post-mortem, the body was taken to Sarusajai Stadium and then to the cremation ground.

    • Thousands of fans gathered in Kamarkuchi NC village, near Guwahati, to bid their final goodbye.
